One designer that we are anxious to see on the NYC runways in a couple weeks is Sass & Bide.  We're still drooling over these RTW pieces from the Fall 2011 collection.

James Beard chef, Andy Ricker, has joined the LES with his new NYC outpost,  Pok Pok Wing.  After giving it a try tonight, we are more than happy to welcome the Portland based master of thai cuisine to the neighborhood.  Ike's infamous caramelized wings are smothered in fish sauce, garlic, and chili--an absolute must.  A side of papaya salad creates the perfect balance, super fresh and full of heat. And to top it all off, an upgraded thai iced coffee featuring New York City's own Stumptown cold brew.  Open till 2am on the weekends, I'm sure we'll be revisiting Pok Pok very soon!

We've been counting down the days...Wolfnights has finally opened @ 99 Rivington and we were lucky enough to be their first customers last night! All we can say is, DELICIOUS.  Definitely not your classic wrap, but surely a gazillion times better. 

We went for the Brother's Grimm: chicken wrapped in a chestnut & chilly dough with pickled shitake mushrooms, raisins, plantain chips, and a chipotle aioli sauce. And on the side, the homemade beet salad. The best part, our bill was $10. Our prediction--the newest addition to the LES is going to be a huge hit.

Nothing beats a beautiful fall day in NYC.  

This weekend we took advantage of the gorgeous weather to walk around Soho. First stop, we couldn't resist the stacks of delicious cookies at Vesuvio Bakery.  Next up, the conveniently parked Van Leeuwen's ice cream truck for a spicy cup of Mexican hot chocolate. And we finished up the day with good company and great selection of cocktails @ The Dutch.

We highly recommend ALL of the above!

This weekend we enjoyed the gorgeous fall weather and headed down the street to the Grub Street Food Festival.  40 of the city's best filled Hester Street including our recent favorite, Miss Lily's. Our recommendation for getting the most bang for your buck at a food fair, always go with a big group of friends and share EVERYTHING.

Since we moved on to Orchard Street a few months ago, we've dined at some of the city's most fabulous spots.  This weekend though, we decided to stay close to home and take advantage of a few of  our LES faves.

We live down the street from some of the city's most talked about restaurants and love to frequent them as often as possible.  This weekend we checked out Miss Lily's and it certainly lived up to all the hype. The Jamaican hot spot is filled with beautiful people and great reggae, but even better than the ambiance is the delicious menu.  If you're in the mood to spice it up a bit, the jerk chicken and accompanying bottle of jerk sauce is a must-have.

sparking creativity in the LES

Part urban think tank and part community center, the BMW Guggenheim Lab parked right in our 'hood this week kicking off what will be a six year nine city migration. The lab is located on Houston St. and Second Avenue and will be open until October 16th.  Check out: http://www.bmwguggenheimlab.org/ for information on the current exhibit and a schedule of events.
